what is the best way to clean bare floor? what vacuum cleaner is best for the wood floor and /or carpet?

Usually I like to use a damp towel to clean the floor because vacuum cleaner is too heavy and too noisy to me. Any good ways to clean the floors? Thanks.

      Try to iRobot Roomba - the little guy is great. I can’t use a vacuum - hurts my back.

      The old way- material needed- mop cloth, soap and water- one mediam flat bottom rock or brick. thema god sours of elbo grease. Place water on soupand hot water on floor; puy put wet cleling cloth on top of the wet floor, then place rock,or brick. get on you knees and start rubging the foor clean.After you rub clean, rince with cold water and clean cloth. Repeat this untill all the floor is clean. After you finsh you need to cover the clean floor with floor polish.

      I use “Floormate” by Hoover, works great.
