My vacuum cleaner is louder than a freight train, what’s wrong?

I have a Dirt Devil bagless upright vacuum cleaner that I just replaced the belt on and now when I turn on the power, it’s SCARY loud. Any ideas?
It’s an older machine. I do believe it has something to do with the belt because it wasn’t making that noise before we replaced it. I’m wondering if the roller/brush is messed up.

      The belt and roller to make sure nothing shifted during installation in bind.
