How would you go about taking apart a vacuum cleaner?

I have this sever OCD problem where I can’t buy anything new to replace something unless that something is broken. And I really need a new vacuum cleaner, but it’s not quite dead. So, i’m wondering if you knew of a way that I could possibly cut a certain cord or do something to the vacuum cleaner to have it suddenly stop working. But it can’t be obvious like clogging it or cutting the electrical cord. So please, tell me anything. The one that works gets best answer. Thanks. Much appreciated

For the cable that connects the cable that connects the brush part with the gears would turn it or fray it on.
