What is the vacuum in the commercial with the guy on the ladder?

June 25th, 2010 | Posted in vacuums   Comments Off
Jackie asked:

There’s a tv commercial where a woman is vacuuming her house and her husband is outside on a ladder by the window. Well then he starts to fall and she pulls the attachment out of the vacuum and sucks him back towards the house so he doesn’t fall.

Does anybody know what vacuum that commercial is for? I need a new vacuum and was interested in that one. Obviously I know you can’t suck people out of the air but I want to check it out.

Thanks!

Does a professional manual and parts list exist for repairing old Hoover upright vacuum cleaners?

June 21st, 2010 | Posted in vacuums   Comments Off
Froggy asked:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know I can buy a new, high tech(and plastic, foreign made piece of crap)vacuum. However, my Dad worked for Hoover for 40 years and built THIS one over 15 years ago. I’ve been able to maintain and repair it fine so far, but it’s been having trouble with suction. I think the composite material of the fan blades is worn down.
L&L: The newer Hoovers are foriegn-made JUNK, just like everything else. Hoover doesn’t even make Hoovers anymore. The name was sold to a holding company. I was in Ohio last week, and both the original factory and the plant built in the ’70’s are sitting idle.
