How well do leaf vacuums work?

Saturday, March 19th, 2011
Jack asked:

I’ve always used a conventional chipper/shredder to mulch leaves. Mine broke and I’m going to replace it. The new leaf vacuums (the big rolling monsters that Sears sells for $500+) sound good. How well do they work with a LOT of leaves. We have 80 year old trees and get buried.

What are the best Vacuums for picking up dust?

Monday, March 14th, 2011
The REAL Steel Deal!!! asked:

I seriously can’t stand dust, but it’s there, no matter how often I dust, it comes back within minutes. I would like a good vacuum, one that has good power to pick up dust, preferably hand held. Any suggestions.
Any links are also appreciated.
Many thanks.

Bill S asked:

are there any vacuums that are made for vacuuming up dirt and dust and soot like that from a furnace would make. we have a pellet stove and it makes a lot of dust that just ruins our regular vacuum when we have to clean it.

Do all bagless vacuums get dust all over the outside of the machine?

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011
kelli123 asked:

I’ve looked at several including Dyson. The Dyson Demo machine at Home Depot was covered with dust. Was leaning toward the Dyson, but don’t want to spend that kind of money if I have to always clean dust off the outside of the machine.
