What kind of vacuum do i need for aquarium?

Friday, August 27th, 2010
xeptra asked:

I have an aquarium with sand substrate. I tried using my gravel vacuum on it but it didn’t suck up any of the debris. I held the vacuum a little above the sand jt like I am supposed to. The debris would go up the syphon a little then fall back down. I even tried getting closer to the sand and it did the same thing. Any ideas? Do i need a different kind of vacuum? I’ve heard of netting the sand. How do you do that?
I am not having any problems getting the suction started.

How often have you bought a new vacuum. What is a good vacuum?

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010
Daisy is a crunchy con asked:

I have had 3 vacuums die in about 5 years. I clean them out, take them apart to look for clogs but after a while they just don’t work very well anymore. Right now I am stuck with a 6 month old vacuum that doesn’t really work very well. I am wondering if that is a very common experience.

What vacuum do you love over the long haul?

What is the best handheld vacuum to suck up pet hair on my furniture?

Friday, August 13th, 2010
Danielle asked:

My regular vacuum cleaner doesn’t extend as far as I want it to when I vacuum my couch, and it’s been REALLY frustrating for me. So I’m thinking that a dustbuster/handheld vacuum will work better.

What is the best vacuum for a sewer and quilter?

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010
sewmom asked:

I break 2 to 3 vacuums a year. I sew in 3 different rooms in house and i have threads everywhere. I bought a push restaurant type of broom to pick up most threads but there is still a lot left. The threads tangle on the brush rollers of vacuum. I clean these twice every time i use it but it will eventually freeze up and i burn up another motor. I now buy very cheap models since i break them. Any ideas on models or techniques on cleaning brush rollers of threads and dog hair?

Where can I rent a vacuum for a few days?

Thursday, August 5th, 2010
philasophos01 asked:

I need to rent a vacuum today before company comes for the weekend. Our vacuum broke (doesn’t even turn on) a few weeks ago & we’re still waiting for the replacement parts to come.

Please tell me some stores where I could rent a vacuum. Mostly it will be for cleaning up after the dogs & all their chewed stuff.

Thanks!

Also, maybe for future reference, can you rent special kinds of vacuums that clean like the professionals use, for when regular vacuuming just isn’t enough?
