cnfoozed asked: I have wall to wall carpeting and long hair - a terrible combination.
Can anyone reccomend a good vacuum cleaner for me? I want something that will actually get the hair out of the carpets and not let it get stuck on the rollers.
The cheaper the better.
Thanks!
William

~*Lady Beth*~ asked: There’s one more question I have that goes along with this. The small different parts that you can take out of the vacuum cleaner to clean, can you rinse them in the sink as long as you let them dry before you put them back? & is it okay to wipe down the inside parts with a damp cloth? It’s pretty dirty! This vacuum doesn’t have bags, it’s one of those that has the part you take out & dump the junk.

kayakyen asked: One of the little metal pieces on the plug on my vacuum cleaner came off. I don’t want to have to buy a new vacuum if I can just replace the plug.
I would like to know where I can get the plug and how to install it. I was thinking OSH, or Radioshack, but neither seems to offer the product online.

Ambivalence asked: My hair is always getting caught in the spinning brush thingie of my vacuum cleaner. It drives me nuts because I keep having to stop and get in their with scissors to deal with the tangles of matted hair and carpet lint. Please tell me there’s a better kind out there?

T J asked: We have 5 dogs, and some carpeted areas. We have spent more money on vacuums than I care to admit. Oddly enough, the best one is this 15+ year old Eureka canister vacuum that we still have.
What have you found the best vacuum cleaner for pet hair to be? I don’t really want to spend $600 on a Kirby, but I’m open to spending something as long as I get a machine that really, uh, sucks.

rdnkchic2003 asked: I have a Bissell vacuum cleaner, but I think it’s just like any vacuum cleaner. I didnt notice the bag was full and of course I kept using it and it caused a clog in the hose. Does anyone know how to removed the clog? I dont know if it matters but it’s mostly clogged with dog hair. I’ve tried taking a wire coat hanger and pusing it into the hose. I put a curve in the end but all that happened was I pulled out a straight hanger, no hair.
I’ve already removed the hair from where the hose connects to the bag and vacuum. Now the clog is just stuck inside the hose, about 3 inches in. I dont know how big the clog is. THe hose wont scrunch down for me to put a knife all the way through. Maybe i could find something hard that’s long enough though. Keep the answers coming please.

Sharon asked: I have an older Kirby vacuum cleaner (upright with bag). When I have had dogs since I have owned the vacuum. When I use the vacuum it puts out a strong smell into the air of a dog that needs a bath. (I used a shop vac on the same floor and didn’t get any smell. So it’s not the rug, it’s the vacuum). Anyone know how to remove the smell?
